Otsu/Shiga, Japan – May 30, 2015 - Takara Bio Inc. announced that it was selected for a project “The development of cell manufacturing and processing systems for industrialization of regenerative medicine” by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), and signed the relevant agreement with NEDO.
The project aims at development of system to manufacture and process human stem cells, as products and raw materials of regenerative medicine. In this project, Takara Bio will be responsible for “development of system to manufacture regenerative medical products derived from human pluripotent stem cells”, and will be engaging in development of methods for quality control and assessment of cells during manufacturing of regenerative medical products derived from stem cells such as iPS cells or ES cells.
